On Sunday, September 21, we successfully held the Hike by Trubar`s birth parish and the main event, the Holiday of dried fruit. We heard nothing but praise from hikers and all visitors to Gradež all day long, so that in the evening, despite our tiredness, our smiles did not fade.

Shortly after nine in the morning, 71 of us hikers, after being greeted by the president of the association, Lojze Senčar, and after a "breakfast" with donuts donated by the Grosuplje Bakery and the Don Don group, set off towards Rašica. Breda Dvořak Drašler, an expert on Primož Trubar, met us at the Trubar homestead. We learned that our visit was on a very special day, as the Trubar Memorial Room was opened on September 21, 1986 (also a Sunday). She refreshed our memories of important events in Trubar's life and happily answered many questions from visitors.

We continued our journey towards Škocjan, to the church in which Trubar was baptized, where we were welcomed by the pastor, Janez Selan. He touched on the history of these places, the church and the counts of Turjaški, and pointed out the plaque on the baptism of Primož Trubar and the victory of Andrej Turjaški in the battle with the Turks near Sisak.

In Gradež, a multitude of members and other assistants took care of serving visitors and providing guidance and explanations about the village's attractions (fruit drying room, exhibition of old tools), several members demonstrated old rural tasks, and two also demonstrated bobbin lace making.

At the beginning of the village, guests were able to refresh themselves with a first sip of brandy from two members of our association, then they could shop at numerous stalls with handicraft products, from honey, homemade pasta, drinks, ceramics, wooden and pottery products, knitwear and other textiles to toys, jewelry, stained glass and of course many other things from our association's offer.

After a short speech by the mayor Matjaž Hočevar and a greeting from the president of the association, the cultural program included performances by pupils from POŠ Turjak, our Krheljčki and, for the first time, the singing group Marlenke from the Velike Lašče pensioners' association. Everyone received great applause.

The members who issued the winnings had a lot of work, because all 730 lottery tickets were sold. The exhibition of mushrooms, which were collected by our members and of which the determiner determined 107 different species, was also very popular. Archers were happy to teach these skills to anyone who was interested.

In the evening, the entertainment and dancing was provided by the Pojav ensemble, the most tireless dancers were from the Moravče Retirement Association, who, in addition to the Dolsko Retirement Association and the Škocjan Tourist Association, were among the larger groups of visitors.

Both events were very successful, also thanks to the many non-members who came to our aid. The events were highly publicized by several media outlets, which announced and reported about them. Among other things, articles were published in Slovenske novice, Kmečki glas, on Planet TV, on radio Zeleni val and Univox...

A little more, including some summaries of conversations with visitors, will be published in the next Trobla.
