Our Association for preserving heritage prepared the 11th display of nativity scene in Gradež near Turjak, which is the biggest in Slovenia. More than 340 nativity scenes will be on display until the 2nd of January 2019.
On 16th December 2018 the exhibition was opened by the president of our association and a mastermind of the exhibition, Marko Šavli. Different vocal groups such as Alegria, Borovničke (means: small blueberries), Potoški fantje (means: boys from Loški Potok) and a new village children's choir, who are named Krheljčki (means: small dried pieces of apple) after the main activity of our association, which is fruit drying. We were able to observe two carvers and two lace makers at their making of the nativity scene and a live presentation of the nativity scene was set up in the fruit drying house. The viewing of all the nativity scenes was accompanied by the guides and the visitors were also able to have something to eat and buy some presents for their loved ones. We were also sent a little bit of snow, so the atmosphere was magical. The exhibition will be open from 16.00 till 19.00 hours during the week and from 13.00 till 19.00 hours during the weekends. It will last until the 2nd January 2019. On the 23th and the 30th December and on the 2nd of January 2019 we will prepare an even more exciting programme. The children will be in for a surprise on the 23rd and the 30th of December.
